Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down to Facebook Timeline?
Mark Zuckerberg launched the new Timeline format(which will replace the old Profile and Wall) at the f8 developer conference recently in 2011. If you use the popular social networking site Facebook you will probably already have Timeline, which is a new development there. Timeline was announced some weeks ago with the option of trying it ahead of its launch on 25 December.Timeline gives a totally new look to your page.
Timeline is intended to make it easy for viewers to scroll through recent events and posts by a Facebook user. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has said that it offers a more comprehensive portrait of anyone using the social networking site.
It allows you to choose a main photo that is displayed across your page like a banner.
In any case, Internet users gave a big thumbs down to the new redesign in the new Sodahead poll, with 91 percent of teens claiming that Facebook should return to the old redesign. Women, who make up a majority of users on Facebook, also voted Facebook down by an 89 percent clip. Who liked it? IT workers.
There are problems!
Some YouTube videos no longer show up but get posted as a blank white box which isn't anywhere near as encouraging for anyone to watch the video. And photos that are too big get trimmed at the sides losing some of the image. This spoils their appeal too.
Many features such as 'Pokes' no longer show up on your main Facebook wall.
'Notes' has also disappeared.
Some are experiencing another annoying problem of not being able to delete links shared from another.
'I personally find it very exciting and you need not have to scroll to the bottom of your page and keep selecting more until you may find what you are looking for it gives your profile that organized look and easy to get information as every thing is now a simple click of the button..'
