Mashable is one of the biggest evergreen tech blog which is recently affected by the PageRank update of Google. Do you really think that Google has penalized Mashable?. Yup! I guess. Everyone might be having the same question in their mind that "Why the PageRank of mashable blog has suddenly dropped from 8 to 0". Really its a big blow for mashable. Attaining pagerank 8 is not so easy as we think. It needs lot of hard work, dedication and need to build quality backlinks. However a PageRank for a blog reflects its traffic and the quality content in it.
Google recently updated PageRank on 6th of February. Exactly after 10 days I saw a sudden change in the PageRank on mashable's home page. To my surprise there I saw was PageRank drop to '0'. No one exactly know the proper reason behind the PageRank drop on mashable's home page. At first when I saw the page rank on home page as '0' I thought it might be the problem in my extension which isn't showing correctly. To confirm it again I headed towards PageRank checking site which was also showing '0' to me. It gave me clear idea that Google has penalized the mashable blog home page.
Facebook likes: 807,820 people like this
Twitter Followers: 2.7M followers (2.7 Million followers)
Google Plus One (+1) on home page: 52k (More than 52,000 users)
RSS subscribers: 570,837+ readers
PageRank: 0
Alexa Rank: 205
Can you believe that a blog which is having the above stats has no value in the eyes of Google. Google doesn't penalize all blogs simply without any reason. There might be a serious problem with the blog which we are not looking at it.
When I searched for "Mashable" keyword in Google it seemed everything fine for me. The blog was ranking at first in search engines with 6 site links directing to mashable.com. When i visited other pages of Mashable which were linking from home page were fine with a decent PageRank showing '6'.
By a genuine source we got some information about mashable that the blog is having higher bounce rate. Bounce rate usually raises when the loading time of the blog increases. Suppose while people visiting to my blog if it takes too much time to load then in most cases you will likely close the tab before reaching to the content. If you would like to discuss regarding the PageRank drop of Mashable don't hesitate to share it with us.

Is Mashable affected by Google Panda?
I don't know how this blog is affected by panda but the fact and core concept of Google Panda is to make search engines better giving quality results to normal users. Panda is not a kind of software but which goes on updating search algorithm according to the changing trends. It works like an antivirus to search engines which removes poor low quality articles and duplicate content. It will filter the search result before it is shown.By a genuine source we got some information about mashable that the blog is having higher bounce rate. Update: Mashable is back with PageRank 8
Now again Google is showing Mashable PageRank as 8. Mashable confirmed that there was no traffic drop in their blog and the employees said that this happened due to the bug in the Google PageRank algorithm and this is not the first time Google made this blunder.
